Scheduled Task to turn off your computer automatically


Sometimes you require turning off computer automatically. Suppose your favorite video is downloading and you have to go away from your computer but you do not want to stop downloading. Don’t worry you have option for schedule task to auto turn off. Only you have to assign time for it.

  •   Open Control Panel. In control panel double click on Scheduled Task.
  •   It will open Schedule Task wizard. Now open Add Scheduled Task.
  •   Click on Next. Now click on Browse. Here you have to browse shutdown.exe and it is located in   following directory.
                C:\WINDOWS\System32\shutdown.exe
  •   Type above path in File name: and click on Open.
  •   Select appropriate radial button located under Perform this task.
  •   Select Time and Date. Click on Next.
  •   If your account is password protected then type your password and click on Next.
  •   Select check box to open advance properties. You have to add comment at the end of path as -s -t -60 -f. Now your full path in Run is shown below.   
                C:\WINDOWS\System32\shutdown.exe -s -t 60 –f.
  •   Now click on Apply and Ok

Install New Device to the operating system


When a physical device such as a PCI card, Bluetooth modem is inserted into a machine it may still require installing within the operating system. Physical device required driver to successful working. For this do following step.
  • First open Control Panel.
  • In Control Panel click on Add Hardware. It will open Add New Hardware wizard. 


  • Click on Next. It will search for new hardware connected to your computer.

  • After search completed it will show following wizard. Select first one radial button and click on Next.

  • The wizard shows already installed hardware on your computer. Select Add a new hardware device and click on Next
  •  In next wizard select second one radial button and click on Next. 
  • Now select hardware type you want to install. Suppose you want to install modem then select it and click on next. Now new wizard opt you for manually installation or automatically.

  • If you click on Next then driver for hardware automatically installs.
  • If you Check on check box for manual install and click on Next then you must know manufacture name and type. Select appropriate manufacturer and click on Next.

  • The Hardware is then installed. Click on Finish to complete the wizard.

Now, to verify whether driver for your hardware install or not?
  • First open Control Panel. In Control Panel click on System. It will open System Properties wizard.
  • Now select Hardware Tab. In Hardware Tab click on Device Manager.  




  • Suppose you have install driver for modem ( Nokia 2690) then Click on Modem and see whether driver install or not? If driver install then its name is display Otherwise you have to contact manufacturer.
